Over one hundred male advocates are in Chabai for the second Bougainville Male Advocates Forum.
The week long program organized by the Nazareth Centre for Rehabilitation begins today and is aimed at promoting transformational change for Bougainville men.
The forum will see men sharing ideas and experiences and will also receive a deeper understanding of human rights, gender equality and gender-based violence.
It also provides men with the opportunity to learn how to provide a supportive environment for women and encourages men to challenge the harmful attitudes and anti-social behaviours that results in gender-based violence in communities.
The theme of this years’ forum aspires to strengthen and promote the alliance to stop the cycles of violence, nurturing justice and peace for the future of the women and girls of Bougainville.
