Speaker of the Bougainville House of Representatives, Simon Pentanu, announced today that the decision to recall the House on Wednesday 21st August still stands.
Mr Pentanu explained that the deferment of the Prime Minister’s visit does not affect the recalling of the Bougainville House of Representatives.
“The Bougainville Parliament will still meet on Wednesday 21st August starting at 2:00pm,” he said.
“Before the House resumes, the Members will be briefed on the latest activities of the Bougainville Referendum Commission in the morning.”
The Bougainville Electoral Commission will also use this opportunity to brief the Members of the House on preparations of the 2020 Bougainville General Elections.
