With the limited resources faced in terms of human resource capacity, the Bougainville Public Service will now be utilized during the emergency period.
This was announced today by the Deputy Controller and Acting Chief Secretary, Thomas Raivet.
The Bougainville Public Service is expected to receive a full briefing from the Bougainville State of Emergency Controller on Wednesday 15 March, on the extended emergency orders.
Mr Raivet said this meeting will be attended by all heads of departments in the Bougainville Public Service, with representatives also from state agencies and key stakeholder groups.
A Joint Operations Taskforce will be established and will see greater participation from public servants as part of a strategy to ‘harness’ existing resources and capacity through coordinated team work to prevent the entry of the coronavirus into the region.
