On the 8th December 2017, Buin Secondary School was presented with a Certificate of Recognition from the Secretary for Education, Dr Uke Kombra PHD, for being one of the most improved schools as “ Best Academic Performing School” in Grade 12 2017 in Papua New Guinea.

President Chief Dr John Momis wants to congratulate the staff and students of Buin Secondary School on this great achievement.

“I want to place on record my congratulations to the staff and students of Buin Secondary School on this wonderful achievement. Awards such as the one presented by the Secretary for Education, Dr Uke Kombra, only occur as a result of hard work and determination,” Mr Momis said.

“The award demonstrates the positive impact of quality education and discipline and I commend all those who have contributed to the school’s success,” he said.

“I also thank the School Board, led by Chairman Peter Nomoreke, for their continued significant efforts to ensure that Buin Secondary School continues to excel in the years to come,” he added.

“I look forward to seeing many more examples of academic excellence in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville in the future.”
