President votes using the supplementary role
Senior statesman and President of the Autonomous Region of Bougainville Hon Chief Dr John Momis finally cast his vote for the 2017 National General Elections today in Buka town. The President, accompanied by his wife, Lady Elizabeth, visited the polling booth today and they both cast their vote. He expressed his disappointment, however, in discovering his name was not on the common roll earlier this week, delaying him from exercising his democratic right to vote. Most people, like the President, were not able to cast their vote due to their names not appearing on the common roll. This called for the use of the supplementary roll in order to make it possible for Bougainvilleans to cast their vote. Voting will continue next week.
