Public service continues to deliver

Minister for Public Service and Member for Gogohe Constituency, Hon. Robert Hamal Sawa said that the public service has delivered basic services despite funding constraints in 2018.

He was speaking at the public service dedication mass at the Hahela Parish Church on Friday.

“The public services have delivered much needed basic services in health, education, economic, agriculture, fisheries, technical and road infrastructure, community, districts and administration services in 2018,” he said.

“I appeal to each and everyone of you to put your heads together and work with unity to move Bougainville forward for referendum and independence.”

The public service is the main driver for service delivery and is mandated to serve both the government and the public, he said.

“As we are mandated to move forward in 2019, I’d like every one of us to reflect on those challenges we have encountered and achievements we have accomplished in 2018.”

“I know that there are public servants here who are very dedicated, hardworking and committed in devoting their time and efforts in serving the government of the day despite the resource constraints,” he said.

“I congratulate you all for your efforts in a job well done,” he added.
