Statement of Condolence: The Passing of the Late Rose Kabui
The President of the Autonomous Region of Bougainville, Chief Dr. John Momis, paid his tribute on behalf of his wife Lady Momis, the ABG and the people of Bougainville to the family of the Late Rose Kabui who passed away on August 12, 2019.
The Late Rose Kabui was the wife of the first President of the Autonomous Bougainville Government in 2005 to 2008, the Late Joseph Kabui.
During Bougainville’s dark times of the conflict, the Late Rose Kabui stood fearlessly and faithfully beside her husband.
She was a strong, resilient and independent woman who had a big heart for her family and for Bougainville’s aspirations in which she staunchly supported her late husband in.
The Autonomous Bougainville Government and the people of Bougainville wish to acknowledge the contributions of such great women leaders such as the Late Rose Kabui in supporting Bougainville’s peace process over the years.
Our deepest condolence goes out to the immediate family and children, Alfreda, Josepha, Vickie and Lisa in this time of grief. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
